Mohawk Opportunities is committed to helping individuals living with Mental Illness, HIV/AIDS, and those who are homeless achieve stable community living and independence. As a Service Coordinator at Certified Apartment Program, you will provide services to adults with a diagnosis of mental illness living in individual apartments throughout the Schenectady community.

Responsibilities
  • Provide supportive counseling to assist clients in stabilizing their living situation.
  • Offer crisis prevention skills and coping skills to help clients manage challenging situations.
  • Provide crisis intervention when necessary.
  • Supervise medication refills and teach clients about their medication, side effects, and proper use.
  • Teach daily living skills to promote independence.
  • Maintain a healthy and clean environment for clients.
  • Encourage socialization and recreational activities to promote a sense of community.
Requirements
  • College classes in human services, BA preferred.
  • 6 months-1 year experience in human services preferred.
  • Valid and insurable driver's licenses as agency vehicles are available for business use.
  • Experience or education in crisis intervention and prevention preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Organizational and time management skills.
Benefits
  • 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm.
  • $21.70/hour, $45,136.00/annual equivalent.
  • Client phone on-call for a 1-week period approximately every 10 weeks, $150 on-call bonus during this period.
