AWS Specialist Solutions Architects (SSAs) are skilled professionals with profound domain-specific knowledge, equipped to tackle advanced concepts and feature designs.

Within the AWS sales framework, SSAs collaborate with clients facing intricate challenges that necessitate expert-level insights for resolution.

SSAs design scalable, adaptable, and robust technical architectures to meet these challenges. This may involve guiding clients through application refactoring or architecting entirely new cloud-based systems.

The Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO) is a segment of AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS), dedicated to driving revenue, adoption, and growth across a spectrum of customers, from small and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level clients, including those in the public sector.


We prioritize understanding our customers' most intricate and business-critical issues to formulate and implement go-to-market strategies that transform AWS concepts into multi-billion-dollar enterprises.

WWSO teams encompass business development, specialist, and technical solutions architecture.

As a member of WWSO, you will lend your expertise throughout the entire lifecycle of an AWS customer initiative, from ideation for new services to accelerating the uptake of established offerings.

Within WWSO, this role is part of the Worldwide Specialist Team, where you will spearhead the global go-to-market strategy for Storage products that cater to our clients' Data and Analytics requirements.

You will be a leader for specialists, architects, partners, and account teams globally, establishing direction and standards for addressing customer challenges in your area of expertise.

Your collaboration with technical and business teams across AWS will ensure that the voice of the customer is integrated into our product development roadmap.


The Worldwide team maintains a broad perspective and formulates plans so that the most customer-focused technical teams can achieve remarkable milestones.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent the voice of the customer; convey customer insights to product teams to shape feature development and future product direction.
  • Provide advanced technical expertise to your domain-aligned go-to-market teams to resolve our clients' most significant and critical business challenges.
  • Serve as a thought leader by sharing best practices through various platforms such as AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures, and public speaking engagements like AWS Summit and AWS re:Invent.
  • Collaborate with Business Development teams to outline the technical elements of exemplary go-to-market concepts, solutions, and initiatives.
  • Cultivate and support an AWS internal community of technical subject matter experts globally. Develop field enablement materials for the broader Solutions Architect community to assist them in integrating Amazon Web Services solutions into client architectures.

Basic Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of design, implementation, or consulting experience with distributed applications.
  • 5+ years of management experience with technical, customer-facing resources.
  • 5+ years of experience in storage solutions.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proven history of successful technical consulting and/or architecture engagements with large-scale clients or enterprises.
  • Experience in migrating or transforming legacy client solutions to the cloud.
  • Familiarity with common enterprise services.
  • Strong presentation skills with a high degree of comfort engaging with executives, IT management, and developers.
  • Excellent written communication abilities.
  • Working knowledge of software development tools and methodologies.
  • Experience in software development or internet-related industries.
  • AWS Solution Architecture certification or relevant cloud expertise.
  • Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience is highly desired.
