Senior Financial Controller

SUMMARY
The Senior Financial Controller is tasked with overseeing the daily financial activities of the parent company and its subsidiaries across North America. This role is adaptable in terms of location but will necessitate frequent travel to key operational sites. Reporting directly to the CFO for North America, you will collaborate closely with the Group CFO and the Finance Manager responsible for other subsidiaries. Your responsibilities will include managing the North American Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable teams, often taking a hands-on approach to support the finance department. Key duties encompass budgeting, monthly financial reporting, and group consolidation.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in business, accounting, or a related discipline
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) designation
- In-depth knowledge of banking operations and financial data analysis
- Familiarity with national and local tax laws and compliance requirements
- Minimum of five years in a senior accounting or finance management role
- Proficiency in English
- Local residency is preferred.
PREFERRED SKILLS
- CPA or CA certification
- Experience with accounting software such as Xero or Sage
- Familiarity with project management tools like Monday.com, Hubspot, or inventory management systems
- Language proficiency in French, Spanish, or Mandarin
- Experience in auditing, whether internal or external
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Budget Development: Create and oversee budgets, which includes analyzing financial data and forecasting future expenditures and revenues.
- Financial Reporting: Generate precise financial reports that accurately represent the organization's financial status, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Financial Analysis: Evaluate financial data to inform strategic business decisions, identifying trends and forecasting financial outcomes.
- Cash Flow Management: Effectively manage cash flow to ensure the organization maintains sufficient liquidity for operational needs and investment opportunities.
- Oversight of Financial Operations: Supervise financial functions such as payroll, accounts payable and receivable, and tax compliance.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant financial and tax regulations.
- Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain relationships with banks, legal advisors, consultants, and other relevant stakeholders.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks to minimize potential losses, including proposing new internal controls.
- Audit Management: Coordinate with auditors and ensure that audit findings are addressed appropriately.
- Staff Training and Supervision: Provide training and oversight to staff responsible for financial operations.
- Communication: Convey financial information as required to stakeholders.
