About the Evansville State Hospital :

Evansville State Hospital is part of the Indiana State Psychiatric Hospitals, dedicated to the mission of Hope and Recovery. Situated on expansive grounds, our facility offers medical treatment for chronic mental health issues and substance use disorders, supported by a committed team of psychiatrists and advanced practice professionals. Our Active Treatment program assists patients in achieving their goals in the least restrictive environment possible.

Our professional team collaborates with patients throughout their treatment journey, involving medical staff, nursing, psychology, social work, rehabilitation therapy, and community integration programs. Evansville State Hospital maintains accreditation through The Joint Commission as an Inpatient Psychiatric Hospital and is certified by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services as a Psychiatric Medicare/Medicaid Hospital.

Salary Information :

The starting salary for this position is typically $29, but may vary based on education and experience.

Responsibilities:

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Planning and coordinating housekeeping schedules for staff.
  • Establishing work protocols to ensure compliance with health regulations and safety standards.
  • Supervising temporary staff for additional support as needed.
  • Developing annual budgets for cleaning supplies and equipment.
  • Managing procurement of materials and supplies from vendors.
  • Preparing and submitting various housekeeping and operational reports.
  • Conducting inspections to ensure cleanliness and safety standards are met.
  • Coordinating repair requests as necessary.
  • Recruiting, onboarding, and training staff to ensure clarity in role expectations and opportunities for professional growth.
  • Setting performance expectations, monitoring progress, providing feedback, and evaluating employee performance to ensure adherence to quality standards and procedures.

Qualifications for Success:

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • Possession of a valid Indiana driver's license.
  • Ability to foster cooperative working relationships with the public, contractors, colleagues, and supervisors.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of housekeeping practices, procedures, materials, and sanitation standards.
  • Capability to delegate tasks, provide clear direction, and manage workflow effectively.
  • Proficiency in providing constructive feedback, coaching, and developing employee skills.
  • Ability to conduct facility inspections.
  • Competence in maintaining records and documentation.
  • Skills in inventory management of supplies and equipment.

Candidates must also demonstrate a working knowledge of standard operating procedures relevant to the facility.

Supervisory Duties:

This position may involve direct supervision of one or more staff members.
