Job Summary

The Hamilton County Sheriff's Office is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Law Enforcement Officer to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our community through proactive patrol, crime prevention, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct proactive patrol and crime prevention activities to maintain a safe and secure environment for citizens.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with community members, businesses, and other stakeholders to build trust and foster cooperation.
  • Investigate crimes, accidents, and other incidents, and prepare and submit reports as required.
  • Respond to emergency situations, provide assistance to victims, and safeguard property as needed.
  • Testify in court as required, and provide expert testimony on law enforcement practices and procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on the latest law enforcement techniques and technologies.
Requirements
  • Valid and active Ohio Peace Officer Certification with no more than 1-year break in service.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Working knowledge of departmental policies and procedures, federal, state, and local laws, law enforcement practices and procedures, safety and security practices and procedures, public relations, and court processes and procedures.
  • Ability to work 12-hour shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • Ability to complete a thorough background check process.
