About the Role

As a Business Development Director at Whalar, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth and developing strategic partnerships with key clients. This role requires a strong commercial acumen, excellent client leadership skills, and a passion for high-growth digital industries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver senior client leadership, sales, and revenue growth with key clients while identifying and converting new business opportunities.
  • Develop long-term, profitable, and trusted relationships with clients.
  • Identify and seek out a strong advertiser client base for the business.
  • Manage and develop a robust sales pipeline to meet quarterly goals, maintaining high standards of pipeline organization and cleanliness.
  • Annual account planning aligned with regional leadership, quarterly action plans reviewed in line with broader forecasting.
  • Organize and deliver client business reviews and senior Whalar stakeholder meetings within integrated agency partnerships.
  • Lead the Client Service, Measurement, and Media teams through internal kick-off meetings, ensuring effective communication transfer for ongoing client success.
  • Stay ahead of the latest trends, thought leadership, and innovations within the Creator Economy, proactively taking innovation and creative business solutions to clients that align with business goals.
  • Organize and deliver Creator Economy learning and inspiration sessions to new and existing clients.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience with social media/marketing sales.
  • Substantial experience at a senior level, either in advertising partnerships or in an Influencer marketing agency.
  • A natural storyteller and consultative seller who adopts a strategic approach to client leadership.
  • An appreciation of creativity and culture.
  • Understanding of marketing industry trends, including Creator marketing.
  • A strong network of contacts across multiple industries to build new relationships for the business.
