Key Responsibilities

Overview of the Role:


The Senior Project Coordinator (SPC) oversees projects and proposals of significant risk and complexity within the IES practice of the Field Solutions division.

The SPC may also support a Senior Project Manager (Sr. PM) in coordinating large, complex projects and proposals, including Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) initiatives. The SPC manages projects from the proposal phase through to completion.

The SPC ensures that the necessary resources are allocated to the project and oversees their management to deliver client outcomes on schedule and within budget as defined by project parameters.

The SPC is accountable for managing project finances and timelines through a structured change management process, maintaining the project accounting system with accurate contract values and completion estimates.

The role may involve directing the efforts of an Associate Project Manager or Project Coordinator.

The Senior Project Coordinator will uphold a high standard of customer service, both internally and externally, through effective communication and project reporting.


Essential Duties:


The Senior Project Coordinator is tasked with leading project teams to successfully execute complex projects, serving as the primary advocate and communication point for the project.

The SPC will assist Senior Project Managers in executing large, intricate projects and programs when assigned, providing essential support in delivering project management outcomes.

Project Proposal Development:
Ensure comprehensive understanding among all stakeholders of project scope and terms.
Facilitate the proposal creation process, including project execution plans, cost estimation, compilation, and timely delivery while meeting all requirements.
Coordinate a legal review with TRC's legal team prior to contract finalization.
Gather quotes for subcontracted services and material procurement.
Identify project risks and evaluate their probability and impact, planning for mitigation and contingency measures.

Project Resource Management: Ensure adequate resources are allocated to the project, monitor and report on labor hours against budget, manage subcontractors, and oversee procurement execution and tracking.

Ability to manage multiple resources and coordinate activities across various locations.
Project Financial Management: Ensure the project's budgeted costs and profits are achieved or enhanced. Strategize and implement methods to improve project margins.
Ensure timely and thorough change order management.
Establish and maintain project cash flow.
Facilitate efficient project billing in accordance with company accounting practices.
Implement earned value tracking and reporting.

Project Schedule Management: Develop and maintain project schedules for complex projects. Understand project construction requirements, including sequencing of critical milestones.

Comprehend TRC's Quality Control Program requirements and ensure appropriate time, resources, and schedule milestones are integrated into project planning and adhered to during execution.

Project Administration: Properly capture and file all project documentation, including contracts, invoices, meeting minutes, project reports, and communications.

Effectively communicate with clients, project teams, and TRC management, ensuring timely and accurate internal and external reporting, conducting efficient project meetings, and facilitating communication among all project disciplines.

Project Safety: Demonstrate a commitment to safety through leadership and adherence to TRC and client safety policies.

Qualifications

Education:
A Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, Business, or Construction Management from an accredited institution is required. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.

Experience:
A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience is required.
Proven strong written and verbal communication skills.
Attention to detail to ensure quality control of projects and submission of required deliverables.
Experience with relevant software tools (Microsoft Office, MS Project, etc.).
Demonstrated experience managing successful complex projects.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
Occasional temporary relocation to project sites may be necessary.
Physically capable of performing the essential functions of the role.

Compensation:
Compensation will vary based on experience, education, skill level, geographical location, and other compensable factors.

Additional Compensation:

Employees may be eligible for participation in the Company's annual Discretionary Bonus Program, contingent on Company, Business Segment, and Individual performance against Key Performance Indicators, which may vary annually.
