Job Summary

Clark Nexsen is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Architect to join our team. As a key member of our architectural team, you will be responsible for leading architectural projects from concept to completion, ensuring that they meet the highest standards of design excellence, sustainability, and innovation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Leadership: Lead project teams during project design phases, including programming, concept development, schematic design, design development, and construction documentation.
  • Design Development: Lead all aspects of architectural design, including the development of design sketches, renderings, models, graphics, presentation materials, analysis, construction drawings, and schedules.
  • Project Management: Participate in the bidding and construction administration of projects, including jobsite visits, review of submittals, and responding to contractor questions.
  • Communication: Communicate and engage with a wide variety of stakeholders, including clients, owners, users, team members, consultants, contractors, and regulatory agencies, to achieve overall project objectives.
  • Project Coordination: Concurrently lead multiple projects at varying stages of design and construction.
  • Professional Development: Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and participation in continuous learning.
  • Mentorship: Mentor junior design staff in their professional development.
Requirements
  • Education: Professional degree from a NAAB-accredited Architecture program.
  • Experience: 10+ years of professional experience.
  • Licensure: Fully licensed Architect in at least one US state.
  • Skills: Familiarity with United Facilities Criteria (UFC) as they relate to design of DoD and government facilities, experience in the design of Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) and spaces with Radio Frequency (RF) shielding, experience with both Design/Bid/Build and Design/Build project delivery methods, ability to gain and maintain a Secret security clearance, US Citizenship, and proficiency in Revit and other design software.
Work Environment

Work is sedentary and often performed in an office setting. Work area is lighted, heated, and ventilated. This position may require extended periods of standing, sitting, as well as some repetitive movements, bending, and lifting of minimal weight. Workplace Flexibility

We have selected two common days in the office to nurture collaboration and innovation and to support learning and growth through engagement with colleagues. We are asking everyone to be present on Mondays and Thursdays, with a required third day that will provide additional flexibility and be set established between you and your supervisor (with consideration given to your project team members and clients).
