About the Role

Clark Nexsen is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Architect to join our team. As a key member of our architecture department, you will be responsible for leading architectural projects from concept to completion, working closely with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to deliver high-quality results.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead project teams through the design and development process, ensuring timely and within-budget delivery.
  • Develop and implement architectural design concepts, including sketches, renderings, and models, to meet client and project requirements.
  • Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to understand project needs and develop effective solutions.
  • Manage and coordinate project resources, including personnel, materials, and equipment, to ensure efficient and effective project delivery.
  • Conduct site visits, review submittals, and respond to contractor questions to ensure project quality and compliance.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure project objectives are met and expectations are exceeded.
  • Concurrently manage multiple projects at various stages of design and construction, prioritizing tasks and resources to meet project goals.
  • Contribute to office activities, initiatives, and continuous learning, staying up-to-date with industry trends and best practices.
  • Mentor junior design staff in their professional development, providing guidance and support to help them grow and succeed.
Requirements
  • Professional degree from a NAAB-accredited Architecture program.
  • 10+ years of professional experience in architecture, with a strong track record of delivering high-quality projects.
  • Fully licensed Architect in at least one US state.
  • Experience with United Facilities Criteria (UFC) and design of DoD and government facilities.
  • Experience with Design/Bid/Build and Design/Build project delivery methods.
  • Ability to gain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • Additional accreditations, such as LEED AP, WELL, or Green Globes, are highly valued.
  • Proficient understanding of Revit and experience with 3D modeling, visualization, and graphics software.
  • Excellent graphic, drawing, and presentation capabilities.
  • Experience with environmental analysis applications, such as Climate Studio, Sefaira, Insight360, and Lady Bug/Honeybee, is a plus.

Work Environment

The work environment is sedentary and often performed in an office setting. Work area is lighted, heated, and ventilated. This position may require extended periods of standing, sitting, as well as some repetitive movements, bending, and lifting of minimal weight.
