In this role, you will have the chance to spearhead architectural initiatives across various typologies and scales for government entities. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about design, committed to high standards, actively participate in team and firm-wide initiatives, and demonstrate the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Additionally, you will serve as a mentor to junior design staff and manage project tasks effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct project teams throughout the design phases, including programming, concept creation, schematic design, design development, and documentation.
  • Oversee all facets of architectural design, from initial sketches to construction drawings and schedules.
  • Engage in bidding and construction oversight, including site visits and contractor communication.
  • Collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders, including clients, team members, and regulatory bodies to meet project goals.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously at different stages of development.
  • Contribute to office initiatives and promote continuous learning.
  • Guide junior staff in their professional growth.
  • Deliver exceptional projects with enthusiasm and accountability.
Qualifications:
  • Professional degree from a NAAB accredited Architecture program.
  • Over 10 years of professional experience.
  • Licensed Architect in at least one US state.
  • Familiarity with United Facilities Criteria (UFC) relevant to DoD and government facilities.
  • Preferred experience in designing Sensitive Compartmented Information Facilities (SCIFs) and RF-shielded spaces.
  • Experience with both Design/Bid/Build and Design/Build delivery methods.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • US Citizenship is mandatory.
  • Additional certifications supporting the firm's commitment to design excellence (LEED AP, WELL, etc.) are advantageous.
  • Proficient in producing high-quality construction documents and understanding building detailing and construction practices.
  • Expertise in Revit for complex modeling and documentation, with additional skills in 3D modeling and visualization software preferred.
  • Strong graphic, drawing, and presentation skills.
  • Familiarity with environmental analysis tools is a plus.
  • Understanding of sustainable design principles and interest in achieving relevant accreditations.
