Position Overview

As a valued member of the YES Prep team, your role will encompass a variety of essential responsibilities, including:

  • Maintaining comprehensive student health and immunization records across the organization;
  • Conducting state-mandated health screenings such as vision, hearing, scoliosis, and ANTES;
  • Ensuring adherence to HIPAA, FERPA, and other national regulations to safeguard student health information;
  • Implementing health management protocols for students with chronic conditions, including seizures, asthma, and diabetes;
  • Entering student health information into the student information management system;
  • Managing and executing students' Individual Health Plans;
  • Assisting in the inventory management of medical supplies;
  • Maintaining accurate sign-in sheets, incident reports, and medication logs for students;
  • Promoting health and community resources to students, staff, and families;
  • Carrying out additional responsibilities as assigned.

Essential Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent;
  • Medical Assistant Certification in Texas;
  • First Aid/CPR and AED Certifications;
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish is required;
  • A belief in and commitment to the mission and core values of YES Prep Public Schools;
  • Willingness to engage in constructive feedback;

  • This position is classified as non-exempt and hourly, with compensation based on experience.
  • Health and Supplemental Insurance options, including a $0 monthly medical plan with contributions to a Health Savings Account, along with various supplemental benefits such as Dental, Vision, Disability, and Life Insurance. Eligibility for full benefits requires a minimum of 20 hours of work per week.
  • Participation in the Teacher Retirement System of Texas and a 457 Retirement Plan.
