Job Summary

AMERISAFE is seeking a detail-oriented, productivity-driven professional to join our team as a Senior Territory Sales Manager. This role will be responsible for all sales and agency management activities within the assigned geographical territory. The successful candidate will work under the leadership of the Regional Vice President of Sales and in partnership with underwriting, safety, marketing, and other AMERISAFE departments to achieve stated sales and production goals.

Key Responsibilities

Develop an annual territory plan that aligns with regional and company growth and profitability goals
Conduct weekly agency visits with occasional overnight travel, including trade shows, conventions, and internal meetings
Complete annual agency business plans with appropriate action items to ensure company objectives are achieved
Oversee the development and management of partnerships within the designated agency plant regarding company products and drive submission activity and profitable premium growth
Develop key partnerships with independent agencies to increase the success of the carrier – agency relationship
Collaborate effectively with internal and external partners to deliver an exemplary customer experience
Manage assigned agencies and prospect for potential new agency partners
Keep the team informed of industry trends through contact with independent agents and interactions at insurance industry meetings and conventions
Timely completion of administrative duties, such as weekly call and expense reports
Assist in special assignments and projects at the request of AMERISAFE leadership
Coach and mentor less experienced sales team members

Requirements

5 years of insurance sales experience
In-depth knowledge of the commercial insurance industry and strong knowledge of agency/wholesaler mechanics
Ability to manage a remote territory with limited direction
Dedicated problem solver with the ability to own an issue or request and collaborate with others to ensure satisfactory resolution
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, listening, verbal, and written communication skills
Excellent customer service skills and mindset
Ability to demonstrate integrity, exhibit team spirit and enthusiasm, and establish trust and credibility
Business acumen to interact effectively with all levels of personnel and represent the Company professionally
Agile learner who can quickly absorb information and apply it to current business situations
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Bachelor's degree preferred or relevant industry experience
