Position Overview

Stevinson Hyundai is on the lookout for a knowledgeable Parts Counterperson to enhance their operations at the new Frederick location.

Compensation: $55,000-$65,000 Annually (salary structure includes base pay and a percentage of departmental profits).

Work Schedule: Full-time hours as outlined.

Job Responsibilities:

As a Parts Counterperson, you will be responsible for selling parts to customers in various settings, including over-the-counter, through the shop, or via phone.

Key Duties:
  • Assist customers in selecting necessary parts in a courteous and efficient manner.
  • Inform customers about related part requirements and promotions, ensuring they are aware of the complete product range.
  • Handle phone inquiries, providing pricing information and other relevant details.
  • Review body shop estimates to ensure accurate parts ordering and pricing alignment.
  • Deliver exceptional service to both internal and external customers.
  • Retrieve and fulfill orders from inventory.
  • Notify the parts manager regarding out-of-stock items or urgent shop materials.
  • Source out-of-stock parts from external suppliers and place emergency orders when needed.
  • Manage incoming orders and stock as required.
  • Assist the Parts Manager with daily stock orders and replenishment.
  • Support the Parts Manager during the annual inventory count.
  • Follow up on back-ordered items.
  • Verify will-call and back-order files weekly, returning unclaimed items to vendors or restocking as necessary.
  • Replenish assigned inventory on a daily basis.
  • Process payments from retail customers or obtain credit approvals.
  • Prepare orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pickup.
  • Engage with assigned accounts via phone.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED, along with 2+ years of relevant experience or training; or a combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in English (bilingual skills are a plus).
  • Able to read and understand simple instructions, correspondence, and memos; capable of writing basic correspondence.
  • Effective communication skills for presenting information in small group settings.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
  • Work environment typically involves a shop setting with the use of computers, telephones, and other necessary equipment.
  • Must successfully pass pre-employment screenings (background and drug tests).
  • Minimum age requirement of eighteen years.
