Stevinson Hyundai is in search of a knowledgeable Parts Counterperson to enhance their operations at a new location.

Previous experience in a dealership as a Parts Counterperson is preferred.

Compensation: $55,000-$65,000 Annually (salary includes base pay and a percentage of department profits as part of the compensation structure.)

Work Hours: Full-time schedule as outlined

Job Responsibilities:

As a Parts Counterperson, you will be responsible for selling parts to customers, whether over the counter, through the shop, or via phone.

Key Duties:
  • Assist all customers (retail and shop) in selecting necessary parts in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner.
  • Inform customers about companion part requirements and promotions, ensuring they are aware of the full product range.
  • Handle phone inquiries, providing price quotes and relevant information.
  • Review body shop estimates to ensure ordered parts are accurate and pricing aligns with estimates.
  • Deliver exceptional service to both internal and external customers.
  • Pull and fill orders from stock.
  • Notify the parts manager of out-of-stock items or shop materials needing immediate attention.
  • Locate out-of-stock parts from external sources and submit emergency orders when necessary.
  • Stock and post incoming orders as required.
  • Assist the Parts Manager with daily stock orders and replenishment.
  • Support the Parts Manager during the annual physical inventory of parts.
  • Follow up on back-ordered parts.
  • Verify will-call and back-order files weekly, returning unclaimed items to vendors or restocking as needed.
  • Replenish assigned inventory on a daily basis.
  • Process payments from retail customers or obtain credit authorization.
  • Prepare orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up.
  • Engage with assigned accounts via phone.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED, along with 2+ years of relevant experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in English is required (bilingual is advantageous).
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; capable of writing simple correspondence.
  • Aptitude for effectively presenting information in one-on-one and small group settings to customers, clients, and colleagues.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and frequently lift and/or move more than 50 pounds.
  • Work environment typically involves a shop setting, utilizing a computer, telephone, and other equipment as necessary.
  • Must successfully pass pre-employment screening (background and drug test).
  • Must be at least eighteen years of age.
