Position Overview

We are currently seeking a part-time Youth and Family Specialist to join our SELF (Support, Education, Life Skills, and Family) program, serving the Brown County area for 30 hours each week. This role involves providing structured support and supervision, engaging in skill-building activities, delivering life skills education, offering parenting guidance, and facilitating recreational programs for adults, families, and at-risk youth in various settings, including their homes and schools.

The position requires flexibility in scheduling, as service needs may involve evening and weekend hours. This role is based out of our Green Bay office.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will possess:

  • A solid understanding of family dynamics, abuse, neglect, criminal behavior, and social challenges.
  • A commitment to family support principles, with an accepting, non-judgmental, and culturally sensitive approach.
  • The ability to engage with families from diverse socio-economic backgrounds and ethnicities in meaningful conversations about personal matters.

This position requires a minimum of a high school diploma or GED, with a preference for candidates holding a Bachelor's degree in Human Services or a related field. A minimum of one year of experience working with at-risk youth is essential. Additionally, candidates must have a valid Wisconsin Driver's License, access to a reliable vehicle, meet required auto insurance limits, and maintain an acceptable driving record. Bilingual abilities are considered an asset.
