SUMMARY
Mortenson is in search of a Senior Manager of Financial Operations, tasked with providing daily leadership and strategic oversight for essential accounting, controls, and closing processes throughout the organization. This role will supervise the Financial Operations teams responsible for these functions across construction, development, real estate, and diverse business models.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Organize and delegate responsibilities within the Financial Operations teams across different legal entities and financial sectors.
- Oversee accounting processes and activities across various business models, ensuring compliance with internal policies and technical accounting standards.
- Drive the creation, implementation, and maintenance of formal procedures and internal controls for critical accounting processes.
- Ensure proper segregation of duties in relation to all relevant internal controls.
- Direct the coordination and execution of the month-end closing process, including the establishment of timelines, responsibilities, and quality control measures.
- Standardize and enhance accounting and control processes, utilizing technology to improve efficiencies across different business models.
- Document and review process flows related to key accounting transactions to assess their impact on financial processes and accounts.
- Stay updated on advancements in technology that can enhance accounting processes and lead the implementation of these innovations.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement across all areas of responsibility.
- Provide operational leadership while aligning with corporate business plans and budgetary requirements.
- Build, manage, and inspire a team to achieve business and functional objectives.
- Implement improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Develop cross-functional relationships with Operations, Finance, Business Service Groups, and strategic partners to achieve business objectives through collaboration.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 10-15 years of progressive accounting experience, including over 5 years in a leadership role across multiple teams.
- CPA designation is strongly preferred.
- A blend of public accounting and private industry experience is advantageous.
- Proven success in managing complex accounting functions in environments with multiple business models.
- Experience with Oracle Cloud is a significant plus.
- Familiarity with construction, real estate, and development accounting is beneficial.
- In-depth knowledge of technical accounting principles, US GAAP, and internal controls.
- Strong leadership capabilities in managing and developing team members, fostering accountability and ownership.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex financial information to non-technical audiences.
- Ability to work collaboratively across various departments in a team-oriented environment.
- Professional demeanor with the ability to interact with all organizational levels and external parties.
