Position: Financial Operations Manager – Hybrid

As an integral part of the Finance and Accounting division, the Financial Operations Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing and guiding the general accounting activities across various entities throughout the US and Canada.

This position will act as the secondary finance leader, offering support, analysis, and daily management to ensure that accounting records are thorough, precise, and adhere to GAAP standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Controllership team in the preparation and issuance of monthly financial reports by generating monthly entries, accruals, and reconciliations, while reviewing and analyzing transactional data for accuracy in compliance with US GAAP.
  • Conduct variance analysis of monthly financial statements and perform ad hoc analyses as necessary.
  • Prepare for annual external audits and collaborate with the Controllership team to coordinate activities and review selections to secure an unqualified opinion from the auditing firm.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance to Finance and Accounting staff and contribute to their development and mentoring.
  • Lead initiatives aimed at improving processes within the Finance and Accounting organization.
  • Support acquisitions, integrations, and system implementations as required.
  • Engage in cross-company initiatives and special projects as needed.
  • Act as a liaison between Finance and Accounting and other departments such as sales, account management, and operations.
  • Facilitate communication between US and international locations, including foreign exchange translation, revaluation, and intercompany reconciliations.
  • Assist with treasury management tasks and responsibilities.
  • Oversee direct reports and mentor indirect reports.
  • Provide guidance to Finance and Accounting team members.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting from an accredited institution.
  • A minimum of 10 years of accounting experience, demonstrating a progression into senior-level accounting and/or supervisory roles.
  • Strong technical accounting knowledge and financial acumen, along with analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, coupled with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly with advanced Excel skills.
  • Self-motivated with the capability to work independently, initiating and driving process improvements to enhance the accounting and finance framework.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines and achieve organizational objectives.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in the travel or service industry, including familiarity with systems such as Agresso, Central Command, Global Max, Globalware, Trams, Travcom, and/or Global Matrix is preferred but not mandatory.
