About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Government Business Development Manager to join our team at Allied Universal. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategic business development plans to drive revenue growth within state, local, and federal government agencies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Drive the entire sales process, including prospecting, lead management, proposal development, contract negotiations, and delivery of customized presentations.
  • Develop and execute strategic business development plans to achieve company growth objectives, increase market share, and position Allied Universal's local presence and comprehensive solutions.
  • Build and maintain consultative relationships with government clients, industry partners, and stakeholders to foster long-term business partnerships.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry and market trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging technologies to identify innovative business opportunities.
  • Continuously assess and report on sales cycle activity, pipeline development, and sales goal tracking through the use of CRM tools and ongoing communication with senior management.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including center of excellence departments and branch operational leadership to learn about client needs, position Allied Universal's comprehensive solutions, and deliver a seamless transition of trust with operational partners.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field of study with a minimum of five years of outside sales experience, preferably within the government vertical.
  • Associate's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field of study with a minimum of seven years of outside sales experience, preferably within the government vertical.
  • High School diploma with at least fifteen years of outside sales experience and including at least five years within the government vertical.
  • Current driver's license if driving a company-owned vehicle.
  • Previous consultative sales experience.
  • Minimum of five years of outside sales experience.
  • Ability to thrive in collaborating with operations partners and building relationships.
  • Skillful in consultative selling techniques with a record of achieving sales excellence.
  • Skilled at brand development using professional networks, local and national associations, and social media tools.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, oral and written, and adept in creating and delivering compelling presentations.
  • Proficient in web-based applications and Microsoft Office programs.
  • Strong organizational skills to effectively plan cold calling, in-person client meetings, reporting, and goal achievement.
  • Ability to travel throughout all areas of the territory, including some overnight travel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Outsourced solutions sales to state, local, and federal government agencies.
  • Knowledge of a contracting environment for government agencies, including the procurement process, capture management, regulations, and winning government competitive proposals.
