Job Overview

The Power Conversion and Control division at GE Renewable Energy Power and Aviation is at the forefront of integrating cutting-edge technologies to create and deliver superior power conversion solutions for aerospace, military ground vehicles, and industrial hybrid vehicle sectors.
The Senior Power Electronic Lead Engineer plays a pivotal role in this dynamic environment. You will spearhead the advancement of our innovative power conversion and electrical power system technologies, including Silicon Carbide MOSFETs/power modules, compact electronic packaging, and high-speed digital control systems for new product development and market expansion.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Duties
  • Design, develop, and analyze individual and team projects, applying sound engineering principles while adhering to established business standards and product requirements.
  • Evaluate and recommend topologies for high power/high density power converters.
  • Provide technical guidance to personnel and cross-functional teams involved in the assigned projects.
  • Formulate and execute plans to fulfill technical specifications for assigned components and systems.
  • Lead engineering teams to tackle organizational initiatives and address overarching challenges.
  • Advise on strategies to meet technical and programmatic objectives.
  • Engage in program reviews, presenting findings and recommendations.
  • Deliver power conversion solutions through circuit modeling, simulation, design, and analysis.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers in their professional development.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering from an accredited institution, with a minimum of 10 years of experience in an engineering setting.
Desired Qualifications
  • Master's Degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in designing high power/high density power converters utilizing SiC and GaN devices for aerospace and military applications.
  • Proficiency in system modeling using Matlab/Simulink.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal abilities.
  • Effective problem identification and resolution skills.
