The Lead Engineer will oversee the entire lifecycle of advanced power conversion systems tailored for cutting-edge military aircraft and ground vehicles. This position involves significant contributions to the design, development, and certification of electric power systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage comprehensive system requirements derived from stakeholder expectations.
- Create a detailed Systems Engineering lifecycle strategy.
- Translate customer needs into system-level requirements and distribute them across various architecture components (system, hardware, software).
- Assist in formulating hardware and software specifications.
- Contribute to the creation of interface control documents.
- Support the establishment of verification test plans and procedures.
- Maintain a Verification Cross Reference Matrix to ensure compliance.
- Coordinate modifications, deviations, and waivers in requirements.
- Participate in the development and assessment of design documentation.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams (systems, firmware, software, hardware, testing, and mechanical engineering).
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant engineering experience.
- Proven experience in the development, verification, and validation of avionics power systems.
- Familiarity with avionics electrical power systems, technical specifications, and certification processes.
- Experience with engineering tools and systems (e.g., DOORs).
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Demonstrated capability to lead and collaborate within a team setting.
- Background in program or project management within an engineering context.
- Knowledge of rigorous development standards such as RTCA DO-178B/C, DO-254, SAE ARP4754A.
- Understanding of standards like MIL-STD-704 and DO-160.
- Experience in full lifecycle embedded software development.
