POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the guidance of the Senior Vice President of Enrollment Management and Marketing, the Director of Marketing and Communications plays a pivotal role within the university's communications division. This position requires both independent and collaborative efforts to produce branded digital and print content that supports the university's enrollment and advancement goals.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work closely with enrollment and advancement teams, as well as faculty, to devise innovative marketing and communication strategies.
  • Supervise a team comprising two full-time staff members, contractors, and student employees.
  • Manage the department's project timeline, which includes website updates, advertising, marketing collateral, email outreach, and publications.
  • Collaborate with external partners on various marketing initiatives.
  • Ensure consistency in the university's visual identity and brand messaging.
  • Develop and uphold the university's Brand Guide and communication protocols.
  • Create and refine high-quality communication materials tailored for diverse audiences.
  • Generate monthly e-newsletters for university stakeholders.
  • Review and oversee the production of university student publications, including catalogs, handbooks, and magazines.
  • Represent the department in university and external meetings.
  • Research and suggest advertising opportunities to bolster marketing strategies.
  • Identify potential areas for efficiency enhancements and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Stay updated on design trends to maintain the university's brand relevance.
  • Perform additional assigned tasks as necessary.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of three years of experience in marketing or communications, ideally within an academic environment.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Experience in project management.
  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related discipline.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position involves minimal physical exertion, with occasional extended periods of sitting and routine tasks involving a computer and phone. The ability to lift up to 20 lbs. is required.
