Position Overview
This role involves providing advanced technical support for Linux systems within a diverse enterprise environment, addressing a range of moderately complex technical challenges efficiently.

Department
This position is situated within the Information Technology Operations Division, specifically supporting the Field Intelligence Element.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement shared services and workflows on-premises (VMware) and in cloud environments (AWS, Azure).
- Collaborate cross-functionally to gather requirements, develop, and deliver effective solutions.
- Offer expertise in systems and public/private cloud to resolve operational issues and support engineering initiatives.
- Create and maintain system applications and infrastructure services, including hardware integration and software development.
- Assess current system designs, identify deficiencies, and propose enhancements.
- Explore and recommend emerging technologies to optimize service delivery and scalability.
- Execute additional duties as assigned.

Advanced Responsibilities (if applicable)
- Manage multiple complex tasks and prioritize effectively to meet deadlines while utilizing team skills.
- Apply extensive technical knowledge to resolve intricate problems and devise solutions using sound judgment.
- Develop tools and procedures to enhance automation and monitoring across platforms.

Qualifications
- Active Department of Energy (DOE) Q-level clearance or active Top Secret clearance from another U.S. government agency at the time of hire.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Administration with a focus on Computer Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in Linux fundamentals, including TCP/IP networking and essential infrastructure services (DNS, DHCP, etc.).
- Familiarity with configuration management tools (Puppet, Chef, Ansible) and experience in software performance tuning and systems integration.
- Competence in scripting languages (Perl, Python, Shell, PHP) and virtualization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration and technical presentation.

Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications (e.g., RedHat RHCSA, AWS, SANS cybersecurity).
- Experience with cluster storage technologies and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies.
