Position Title: DSHS FFA Fiscal Analyst 3

The Facilities, Finance and Analytics Administration (FFA) aims to transform lives through effective management of departmental resources.

Role Overview: As a Fiscal Analyst 3 specializing in payroll, you will play a crucial role in supporting our mission by managing the state's financial resources with professionalism, responsibility, and ethical standards. Your work will ensure that payroll funds are disbursed in accordance with the regulations set by governing entities. We are seeking both permanent and temporary Fiscal Analyst 3 candidates to help us achieve the Department's objectives by creating systems and processes that guarantee every paycheck is handled with the utmost care and integrity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and authorize payroll documentation and deduction requests.
  • Provide consultation on payroll issues, including federal taxes, electronic fund transfers, and various deductions.
  • Analyze and execute complex payroll transactions.
  • Reconcile the agency's general ledger and subsidiary accounting records.
  • Ensure accuracy in payroll reports and make necessary corrections.
  • Process, analyze, and reconcile shared leave and other leave-related activities.
  • Establish and maintain payroll files for all employees in compliance with agency policies.

Who Should Consider Applying:

Professionals with a minimum of 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting, auditing, or budgeting, along with two to three years of relevant experience. A master's degree in a finance-related field or certifications such as Public Accountant, Internal Auditor, Certified Governmental Financial Manager, or Management Accountant may substitute for professional experience.
