Tech Marine Business offers an exciting opportunity to prepare you for a rewarding career in Finance through our Apprenticeship program. This program is designed to equip individuals with the skills necessary to thrive in today’s competitive job market. Throughout the one-year Financial Apprenticeship, participants will work closely with a Business Financial Manager (BFM) within an Integrated Warfare Systems Program Office, gaining invaluable insights and hands-on experience in financial management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver timely and professional support services to the Navy Integrated Warfare Systems Program Offices as assigned.
  • Gain exposure to financial management within PEO IWS and understand the DOD/Navy budget process, developing competencies that add value to program offices.
  • Access and extract financial data from various Navy financial management systems.
  • Develop tools to visualize and manipulate financial data, including metrics such as monthly burn rates.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets submitted to the Navy and other governmental bodies.
  • Compile and analyze monthly financial reports and other related documentation.
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding financial data and reports.
  • Conduct administrative tasks, including forensic accounting support and reviewing financial documents for accuracy.
  • Collaborate with government customers and other contractors.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma required (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
  • Pursuing a degree in Finance, Business, or Accounting is advantageous.
  • Open to candidates with prior military experience.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain an active DOD Secret Security Clearance - U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Some professional experience, including financial internships, is preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint, Word, Access, and Excel.
  • Demonstrated proactive approach and excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to interface effectively with internal and external customers.
  • Willingness to travel reasonable distances for job-related functions.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds for necessary equipment.

Compensation:

  • Annual Salary: $50,000
