Position Overview:

As an Automation Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in enhancing manufacturing and facility operations. Your responsibilities will include researching, developing, designing, testing, and integrating cutting-edge technology into both new and existing systems and processes to drive continuous improvement in production efficiency. You will oversee the production of various equipment and systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the conceptualization, quoting, design, debugging, and production of equipment.
  • Deliver technical support and training to the operations team, tooling department, maintenance crew, and external vendors.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to processes and hardware.
  • Establish and uphold standards for new equipment components.
  • Engage with programmable controllers, robotics, and CNC machinery.
  • Create CAD drawings for facility layouts, electrical schematics, mechanical fabrication designs, and equipment specifications.
  • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Enhance manufacturing quality, consistency, and output through project initiatives by recommending, implementing, and documenting improvements. Documentation should be thorough and easily understandable to facilitate quicker troubleshooting.
  • Specify, procure, and follow up on equipment purchases, ensuring adherence to Alutrim's quality standards.
  • Assist in the evaluation of equipment for safety compliance, hazards, and potential enhancements.
  • Provide expertise on electrical controls, automation projects, and equipment upgrades.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of equipment.
  • Oversee project schedules and budget performance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
  • Demonstrate the ability to synthesize complex information; leverage intuition, creativity, and experience to complement data; design workflows and procedures.
  • Exhibit proficiency in interpreting and creating electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic schematics.
  • Possess the ability to identify, define, and resolve issues promptly by analyzing information, collecting data, establishing facts, and developing alternative solutions.
  • Develop project plans, coordinate initiatives, communicate updates, and ensure timely project completion while implementing cost-saving strategies.
  • Effectively prioritize multiple tasks and manage work activities efficiently.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills and leadership capabilities.
  • Collaborate effectively as a team player, focusing on organizational objectives.
