Job Title: Field Service Engineer

At Boston Water and Sewer Commission, we are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Operations Division, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of our sewer infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Reporting: Prepare and submit technical reports to regulatory authorities, highlighting key findings and recommendations.
  • Sewer Infrastructure Inspection: Utilize CCTV equipment to inspect sewer infrastructure, identifying areas of concern and developing condition assessment reports.
  • Office Support: Perform various office tasks, including database updates and technical report writing.
  • Equipment Installation and Maintenance: Install, calibrate, and maintain sewer meter equipment, analyzing data and preparing graphics to support decision-making.
  • Procedure Development: Develop procedures for water distribution surveys and oversee their implementation, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Diagnostic Testing: Conduct various diagnostic tests and investigations related to sewer systems, identifying areas of improvement and implementing corrective actions.
  • Contract Management: Manage contracts for professional services, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining high customer service standards.
Qualifications:

We are seeking a candidate with a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering and 3-5 years of relevant experience. A valid Massachusetts Driver's License is also required.

Strong knowledge of civil engineering and design, ability to interpret blueprints, and excellent communication skills are essential. Proficiency in various computer applications and software is also necessary.

The ideal candidate will be able to handle the physical demands of the job, including lifting up to 100 pounds, and possess normal vision and hearing capabilities.
