The Boston Public Schools is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated ABA Specialist to join our Special Education and Student Services team. As an ABA Specialist, you will play a critical role in implementing individualized intervention programs for students with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other related disorders.
Key Responsibilities- Implement Structured Intervention Programs: Accurately implement structured and individualized intervention programs developed by the Program Director for ABA, utilizing the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis and discrete trial programs.
- Collaborate with Team Members: Work as a team member to ensure delivery of high-quality intervention across environments, participating in IEP team meetings as needed.
- Manage Student Data: Maintain accurate data collection and graphing for each program, facilitating structured peer group activities as appropriate.
- Communicate Effectively: Promptly and appropriately communicate problems/concerns with the Program Director for ABA or other appropriate administrators, completing daily documentation of service delivery for each student served.
- Maintain Confidentiality: Maintain confidentiality and privacy of all student-specific information, as required by HIPPA.
- Education: High school diploma, or enrollment in a degree-granting program, (or higher) in Special Education, Education, Psychology or a related field.
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder, students with moderate/severe disabilities or related disorders.
- Knowledge and Skills: Demonstrated knowledge and experience in ABA intervention, including data collection and report writing, as well as the ability to accurately and consistently follow Behavior Support Plans and Curriculum Plans.
- Communication Skills: Effective written and oral communication skills with students, families, teachers, and administrators.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook.
