As a Substance Abuse Counselor, you will play a critical role in providing comprehensive substance abuse assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and delivering counseling and educational services to groups and individuals.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide substance abuse assessments and develop treatment plans
  • Deliver counseling and educational services to groups and individuals
  • Manage client documentation and reports
  • Facilitate therapeutic and educational groups
  • Act as a liaison to advocate for client needs
  • Engage in case management and crisis intervention
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, or a related field
  • Current state licensure as an LMHP, LMHP-R, LMHP-S, or LMHP-RP
  • At least one year of experience in substance abuse counseling
  • Registration with the Virginia State Licensing board required
