Costume Builder Job Description

At Knott's Berry Farm, we're seeking a skilled Costume Builder to join our team. As a key member of our production crew, you'll be responsible for creating high-quality costumes for our shows and attractions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and construct costumes for various shows and attractions, including character costumes and department uniforms.
  • Work with a variety of fabrics and materials to create intricate and elaborate costumes.
  • Collaborate with entertainment and production management to ensure costumes meet the demands of each scene.
  • Maintain a safe and organized workspace, adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Perform duties as a dresser in entertainment venues as needed.
Requirements:
  • Physical ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual labor.
  • Proficiency in operating industrial sewing machines, overlock, roll edge hemmer, commercial steam iron, and commercial laundry equipment.
  • Knowledge of garment construction and show costuming principles.
  • Pattern drafting and fabric cutting skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
