Join Our Team as an Information Technology Services Volunteer

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic high school student to join our team as an Information Technology Services Volunteer. As a volunteer, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the field of information technology and contribute to the success of our organization.

About the Role

The TechQuest: Empowering Future Innovators program is a high school volunteer opportunity that provides valuable learning experiences and exposure to different areas of the technology industry. As a volunteer, you will participate in IT meetings and discussions, assist with the setup of computers and other office equipment, and shadow computer systems support work in a help desk setting.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in IT meetings and discussions regarding technology and cybersecurity.
  • Assist with the setup of computers and other office equipment for employees.
  • Support the installation of standard software and help resolve common hardware, software, and network connectivity issues.
  • Shadow computer systems support work in a help desk setting.
  • Observe the implementation of Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) software.
  • Participate in gathering requirements for agency applications.
  • Participate in cybersecurity incident detection analysis and prevention.
Requirements

To be eligible for this volunteer opportunity, you must be a current high school student between the ages of 16 to 18 and possess good standing high school academic records. You must also be able to establish and maintain effective and cordial working relationships at all organizational levels, including agency management, direct supervisors, co-workers, internal and external customers.
