Role Summary:

Essential Qualifications:
  • Completion of high school education or equivalent
  • State certification as a Medication Administration Specialist
  • Prior experience in a supervisory capacity is preferred
  • Background in healthcare or senior living environments is beneficial
  • Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in medication management
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team
  • Familiarity with medication protocols and procedures

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and assist residents with their medication routines during extended shifts, adhering to individualized care plans
  • Manage medication supplies, ensuring proper storage and handling practices are followed
  • Accurately document all medication distributions and promptly report any irregularities to the supervising nurse
  • Observe residents for any adverse effects related to medications, ensuring timely communication of findings to the nursing staff
  • Provide emotional support and assistance to residents, treating them with dignity and respect
  • Consistently follow safety and infection control guidelines
  • Engage in ongoing training and educational opportunities to maintain certification and stay informed on best practices in medication administration.
