Job Summary

This position is responsible for maintaining and overseeing financial accounting data, serving as a specialist in fiscal knowledge, and performing technical accounting work. The ideal candidate will have excellent public contact, administrative, and office management skills, as well as the ability to independently prioritize work assignments and projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and oversee financial accounting data
  • Serve as a specialist in fiscal knowledge, including payroll, contract/grants, and related accounting services
  • Perform technical accounting work, including analyzing data for accuracy, problem-solving, and interpreting regulations
  • Coordinate and make recommendations for system changes and test new processes
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalency and one year of experience in accounting work
  • Excellent public contact, administrative, and office management skills
  • Ability to independently prioritize work assignments and projects
  • Excellent judgment, analytical, and verbal communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge of accepted accounting budgeting and related financial forecasting skills
  • Working knowledge of the department's function, organization structure, division of responsibility, and staffing
  • Ability to research, extrapolate, and interpret information from a variety of sources
  • Proficiency in using personal computer equipment, printers, and a variety of work processing and spreadsheet applications
