Role Summary:
The Director of Local Tactical Planning is responsible for leading the development and execution of local media tactical strategies for designated clients. This role demands a blend of expertise, insight, and creativity to foster innovative solutions that meet the needs of clients, the agency, and the team while guiding the team's output and development.

Reporting Structure:
This position reports directly to the Senior Vice President of Local Investment.

Work Environment:
This is a hybrid position, requiring in-office attendance three days a week. Specific accommodations will be discussed during the interview process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and nurture strong client relationships, acting as a vital local strategic partner.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of clients' business goals, challenges, and opportunities, including awareness of emerging competitive threats.
  • Analyze clients' customers' preferences and behaviors throughout the entire customer journey.
  • Direct the tactical approach in alignment with clients' omni-channel marketing strategies.
  • Oversee the creation and management of local media tactical plans and budgets.
  • Present strategic recommendations to account services and clients.
  • Maintain a strong grasp of budgets and media flow for assigned clients.
  • Collaborate effectively with internal teams (Investment, Finance), clients, and external partners.
  • Develop insights for clients regarding critical business issues and trends in the local market.
  • Lead brainstorming sessions and client workshops.
  • Participate in new business presentations.
  • Support the Associate Director in mentoring junior team members.
  • Provide performance feedback to team members and make staffing recommendations.
  • Serve as a resource for resolving complex challenges.
  • May undertake additional duties as assigned by management.
  • Promote multiculturalism and diversity inclusion within tactical plans.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 9 years of experience in media planning, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in both offline and online media.
  • Strong knowledge of local media dynamics.
  • Proven expertise in local strategic and tactical planning.
  • Enjoys problem-solving and meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting to clients and maintaining internal documentation.
  • Strong management and motivational abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite, Nielsen, Kantar Software, IMS, Flowchart Software, R/F and Optimization Software, Social Tracking tools, MediaOcean, and Google Analytics.
