Job Summary

The Kahala Hotel & Resort is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Director of Finance to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for maintaining internal control systems, managing financial controls, and supervising accounting staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Management
    • Direct and manage the development, implementation, and maintenance of financial controls and accounting procedures.
    • Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles and The Kahala Hotel & Resort's established policies.
  • Staff Supervision
    • Hire, train, and evaluate accounting staff.
    • Monitor labor costs and efficiency/effectiveness of staff and contract services.
  • Treasury Management
    • Organize an efficient treasury function to provide working capital and cash flow in accordance with Executive Committee minimum guidelines.
  • Financial Reporting
    • Coordinate the month-end closing process.
    • Ensure all financial reports, budgets, forecasts, and other information required by the Controller and the Executive Committee are accurately compiled and submitted within the specified time limits.
  • Tax Compliance
    • Ensure all tax documentation and payments are properly filed.
    • Satisfy all statutory and fiscal reporting requirements, including government permits and licenses.
Requirements
  • Education
    • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma required.
    • College degree in Accounting strongly preferred.
  • Experience
    • Five (5) years experience in Accounting required.
    • Two (2) years supervisory experience required.
    • Three (3) years experience in Hotel Accounting strongly preferred.
