About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced National Director of Consultant Relations to join our Institutional Retirement Distribution Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing a strategic plan to achieve sales and retention goals with advisor firms.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Product and Service Expertise: Develop and maintain a strong understanding of Lincoln Financial Group's products and services to enhance your ability to identify and target sales growth opportunities.
  2. Business Development: Develop business on behalf of Lincoln Financial Group in a manner that supports a positive company image, in compliance with all required rules and regulations and ethical in all considerations.
  3. Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong business relationships with key sales clients to meet or exceed established sales goals, quotas, targets, or objectives.
  4. Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with internal stakeholders to propose placement of additional Lincoln products in existing client book of business.
  5. Proactive Outreach: Proactive outreach to potential customers from internal leads or generated by marketing activity.
  6. Resource and Support: Serve as a resource to internal and external parties while developing and maintaining collaborative relationships to achieve sales objectives.
  7. Sales Call Data and Reporting: Capture and maintain sales call data in appropriate systems and/or completes sales reports.
  8. Advisor Firm Understanding: Develop a multifaceted understanding of the advisor firms you cover and alignment with Lincoln's value proposition to achieve sales and retention goals.
  9. Product and Service Growth: Support growth in all segments of Lincoln's products/service offerings to maximize and capitalize on the opportunities to grow Lincoln's scope of business with the firms you cover.
  10. Conflict Resolution: Ensure any potential conflicts regarding Lincoln's products/services are resolved.
  11. Industry Trends and Developments: Maintain knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends, assess the impact, and collaborate with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutions.
Requirements
  1. Experience: 5 - 7+ years' experience in external wholesale or relationship management in retirement plans that directly aligns with the responsibilities.
  2. Education: 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's).
  3. Relationship Management Skills: Demonstrates advanced relationship management skills with internal clients and external clients; proven ability to develop creative and collaborative approaches.
  4. Communication Skills: Confident, comfortable communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  5. Presentation Skills: Strong presentation skills with demonstrated ability to influence at all levels of management through clear, informed and logical discussions/presentations.
  6. Licenses: FINRA S6, S63 and LH & VA licenses obtained within 90 days of hire.
  7. Travel: Ability to travel domestically, up to 50%.
