JOB FUNCTION / SUMMARY:

As a Senior Analyst in Credit Review, you will play a pivotal role in evaluating a diverse range of loans to ensure compliance with established credit standards and company policies. Your expertise will be essential in identifying potential loan losses, contributing to the formulation of an adequate loan loss reserve, and preparing comprehensive loan review reports for management and account officers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Expertly extracts and assesses samples from various segments of the loan portfolio, analyzing results to draw conclusions about the overall asset quality.
  • Compiles raw loan portfolio data from multiple sources into insightful reporting to quantify and evaluate asset quality across the portfolio.
  • Generates and disseminates formal reports based on thorough reviews and analyses, presenting both quantitative and qualitative assessments of asset quality and providing actionable recommendations for improvement.
  • Utilizes credit and financial data, along with industry and economic insights, to confirm the ongoing creditworthiness of clients.
  • Conducts reviews of collateral documentation as necessary.
  • Assesses the adequacy of loan risk classifications and accrual statuses, recommending adjustments as needed.
  • Alerts supervisors to any discrepancies between perceived and actual risk ratings assigned to loans or relationships.
  • Assists in gathering information, preparing reports, and completing special projects as required.
  • May participate as a member of the Due Diligence team for prospective acquisitions.
  • Acts as a Team Lead for multiple annual portfolio reviews, assigning tasks and supporting team members to ensure timely completion.
  • When serving as Team Lead, determines the sample to be reviewed and collaborates with management regarding upcoming reviews, ensuring consistent quality and adherence to deadlines while keeping management informed of progress and issues.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

May oversee team members in accordance with organizational policies and applicable laws, providing guidance and evaluation of performance. Responsibilities may include interviewing, hiring, and training associates; planning and directing work; managing performance; and addressing concerns.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or Accounting preferred.
  • A minimum of 6 years of relevant banking experience, ideally in credit analysis, credit review, or commercial lending.
  • Advanced training such as Loan Review Certification, Risk Certification, CPA designation, or completion of Graduate Banking School is preferred or must be obtained within one year of hire.
  • A combination of equivalent education, training, and experience may be considered.
  • Deep understanding of functional areas including Credit, Finance, Compliance, and Legal is preferred.
  • Ability to apply the conceptual framework of loan, deposit, and payment transactions to real-world scenarios.
  • Knowledge of multi-state laws, regulatory requirements, and compliance rules.
ESSENTIAL MENTAL & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Capability to operate relevant equipment to perform essential job functions.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents necessary for job functions.
  • Ability to lift or move approximately 10 pounds if required for job functions, with accommodations available as needed.
