Overview of the Position:
The Senior Commercial Credit Analyst plays a crucial role in ensuring that loan applications adhere to rigorous quality standards, comply with relevant regulations, and align with bank policies. Although this position holds lending authority, it is not classified as a production role. Additionally, the analyst is tasked with managing letters of credit and various other functions within Credit Administration.
Key Responsibilities:
Evaluate commercial, commercial real estate, agricultural, and other loan proposals submitted by loan officers or business lines to guarantee thorough underwriting, appropriate structuring, effective administration, prudent risk management, compliance with Loan Policy, and accurate risk evaluation. Prior to granting loan approvals, engage in discussions with loan officers, Banking Center Presidents, Senior Lenders, and/or Line of Business Chiefs to address and resolve any concerns identified during the review process. Support the Chief Credit Officer in the assessment, modification, interpretation, and implementation of the Loan Policy. Monitor the loan portfolio and analyze market trends that could affect credit quality. Assist with annual audits and examinations, both internal and external. Participate in training initiatives. Maintain comprehensive knowledge of Bank products, services, policies, procedures, and relevant regulatory matters related to daily operations, including but not limited to: Bank Secrecy Act; Privacy Act; Fair Lending Act; Regulation E, etc. Complete mandatory compliance training and uphold the Bank's standards of conduct. Engage in the bank's High-Performance Rewards Connections program by providing referrals. Execute additional responsibilities as assigned.Position Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree with a minimum of 20 years of experience in lending, credit, loan assessment, or a combination thereof, encompassing a broad spectrum of commercial, commercial real estate, and some familiarity with agricultural lending. Up-to-date knowledge of banking regulations and procedures. Strong analytical skills, including global cash flow analysis. Ability to swiftly resolve issues and make informed decisions. Detail-oriented and highly motivated. Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team and build relationships across the organization. Exceptional customer service skills. Competence in prioritizing multiple tasks efficiently. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with strong listening abilities. Proficient in general computer use and typing, particularly with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Willingness to travel occasionally for business purposes. Capable of extensive reading and computer usage. Flexibility to work outside of standard business hours when necessary.
