Job Summary

The State Controller's Office is seeking a highly skilled Financial Accountant III to join our team. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for providing oversight and subject matter expertise in managing staff responsible for the review, analysis, planning, and design of new accounting and reporting requirements affecting California's statewide financial reports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical guidance and support to staff on accounting and reporting requirements
  • Develop and implement new accounting and reporting procedures
  • Collaborate with other Bureau Management to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
  • Review and analyze financial data to identify trends and areas for improvement
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting and financial reporting
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
