Job Summary

This Medical Equipment Specialist role is responsible for ensuring safe delivery, setup, and education in usage of home medical equipment for our customers. Setup is done in their home, long-term care setting, clinic or any location deemed necessary to service patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Knowledge: Develop and maintain working knowledge of current HME products and services offered by the company and all applicable governmental regulations.
  • Customer Education: Educate customers in proper use and care of respiratory and HME equipment in a home setting.
  • Documentation: Complete required documentation following equipment setup, delivery or pickups as required.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine preventative maintenance and simple repairs on equipment as required in accordance with company policies.
  • Communication: Assist with customer equipment problems under emergency conditions and effectively communicate both verbally and written with customers with the ability to demonstrate empathy, compassion, courtesy, and respect for privacy.

Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalency
  • Experience: Entry level sales, customer service background essential; one (1) year of Military, delivery driver with sales component or health care technician experience would be considered related experience and preferred.
  • Licenses: Valid and unrestricted driver's license in the state of residence

Work Environment:

  • Physical Demands: Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Safety Precautions: May be exposed to unsanitary conditions in some home settings, hazardous materials, loud noise, extreme heat/cold, direct, or indirect contact with airborne, bloodborne, and/or other potentially infectious pathogen.
