About the Role

EmergeOrtho is committed to delivering exceptional, patient-centered care. As a Patient Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring a seamless experience for our patients and visitors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Check-in and Registration: Confirm appointment times, review and verify demographics, and collect all due balances, deposits, and co-payments.
  • Insurance Verification and Scheduling: Verify insurance eligibility and schedule appointments in person or by telephone.
  • Chart Preparation and Review: Prepare and review charts for appointments, and process orders as needed.
  • Communication and Customer Service: Maintain open lines of communication with assigned staff and providers, and provide exceptional customer service to patients and visitors.
  • Inventory Management and Equipment Maintenance: Maintain business office inventory and equipment, and ensure the availability of treatment information.
  • Emergency Response and Confidentiality: Respond to emergencies and maintain the confidentiality of personal and financial information.
Requirements
  • Qualifications and Experience: High school diploma/GED or equivalent previous experience, sound communication skills, and excellent customer service.
  • Previous Experience: Previous experience as a check-in specialist is recommended, but not required.
  • Insurance Knowledge and Financial Collections: Experience and knowledge of insurance guidelines and insurance entry, and experience in financial collections is recommended, but not required.
  • Multi-tasking and Prioritization: Ability to handle high patient volumes, maintain composure in stressful situations, and prioritize tasks effectively.
