Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Support Specialist to join our team at UNC Health Care. As a Clinical Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist healthcare providers with routine examinations and procedures, ensuring the highest level of patient care and safety.
  • Review patient care documentation, identifying any significant changes in patient condition and reporting to registered nurses or physicians promptly.
  • Provide a range of clerical tasks, including organizing workload, greeting visitors, researching information, reviewing orders, and maintaining medical records.
  • Perform routine quality assurance audits, safety checks, and inventory of supplies to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Provide direct personal care to patients, including bathing, dressing, feeding, and assisting with ambulation, as outlined in the patient's plan of care.
  • Measure and record vital signs, patient height, and weight, and may be responsible for specimen collection, skin preps/scrubs, catheter care, capillary blood glucose checks, simple wound care, range of motion exercises, and/or postural drainage.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Listed as Nurse Aide I Registry with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
  • One year of clerical or customer service experience and six months of related nursing assistant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Must be fluent in verbal and written English language and capable of developing computer skills.
Work Environment

This position is employed by UNC Health (Rex Healthcare, Inc., d/b/a NC Health), a private, fully-owned subsidiary of UNC Health Care System. This is not a State employed position.
