Position Overview:


The Visitor Services Representative plays a crucial role in ensuring that all guests receive timely assistance and are provided with clear guidance to enhance their experience at the Museum.

This position involves operating the Point of Sale system and entails the secure and precise management of cash, credit cards, and various payment methods at the front desk, gift shop, and during after-hours events.

The Representative is expected to be available for work during some holidays, evenings, and weekends.
To excel in this role, an individual must effectively carry out each essential responsibility. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals to perform the essential functions. While fulfilling the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively and listen attentively.

The employee frequently needs to stand, walk, use hands for handling or feeling, and reach with hands and arms.

The Visitor Services Representative is primarily accountable for managing the Admission Desk and Gift Shop while ensuring that financial documentation is prepared and submitted punctually.

They will ensure a welcoming and efficient admission process for Museum visitors and vendors.
Assist volunteers as necessary.
Handle ticket processing for events and advance sales via phone.
Manage retail and food/beverage transactions in the gift shop and/or at ticketed events.
Direct all business visitors and calls to the appropriate staff.

Collaborate with the Guest Relations Coordinator to ensure a comprehensive understanding of information at the admissions desk to address visitor inquiries and phone calls.

Close and balance Point of Sale systems daily.
Maintain and distribute reports as assigned by the Guest Relations Coordinator.
Responsible for additional tasks as may be assigned by the Guest Relations Coordinator and/or Director of Operations.

Preparation and Knowledge:

Education:
High School Diploma/ GED.

Minimum of two years of experience in customer service and/or retail.
Intermediate knowledge and skills with Microsoft Office 365 programs and Blackbaud Altru system.

Additional Skills:
Must possess the ability to manage competing/multiple tasks.

Special Requirements:
Demonstrates an ability to understand and articulate a commitment to the mission and values of MOAS.
Exhibits personal integrity and ethical principles.

Ability to collaborate with others and work effectively as a member of a team while developing and maintaining positive relationships with various stakeholders.
