WWCM is seeking a skilled Cybersecurity Application Specialist to join our team. This role is pivotal in safeguarding our networks, data, and applications, ensuring they are fortified with industry-leading security protocols. The position involves integrating mission systems and enhancing capabilities in various domains, including sensing, effects, and command, control, communications, and intelligence systems, all while prioritizing cybersecurity and supporting NextGen services.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and uphold security protocols and best practices across the organization.
  • Conduct comprehensive security evaluations to identify and address vulnerabilities.
  • Collaborate with development teams to resolve security challenges.
  • Design, develop, and implement secure coding methodologies.
  • Assess applications for potential security threats.
  • Provide support for complex systems and applications, overseeing the deployment, maintenance, migration, upgrading, and enhancement of system performance.
  • Act as a senior member of the cloud systems administration team, facilitating the installation, optimization, integration, troubleshooting, backup, recovery, modification, security, and upgrading of IT systems and components.
  • Contribute as a software developer and integrator within a development team.
  • Develop Machine Learning (ML) applications utilizing a comprehensive full-stack development suite.
  • Work effectively within applications or solutions engineering teams.
  • Develop, integrate, and test software to ensure optimal operation of software systems.
  • Integrate diverse applications from various sources, ensuring they meet performance benchmarks for stability and resource efficiency.
  • Create automated testing and deployment software.
  • Support the complete lifecycle of DevSecOps, including Infrastructure as Code (IaaS).

Qualifications:

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience; or a Master's degree with no prior experience.
  • Effective communication skills within a team setting.
  • Deep understanding of cloud fundamentals, architecture, resources, and security.
  • Proven experience in deploying and managing cloud resources.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, and C# on a Linux platform.
  • Familiarity with JavaScript or a quick adaptability to Python.
  • Capability to design software modules using an object-oriented approach.
  • Experience in direct customer interactions for software design and installation support.
  • Prior experience with Git or similar version control tools.
  • Experience with Agile Development methodologies.
  • Knowledge of Docker or containerization environments.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in implementing, administering, and creating custom dashboards for performance monitoring and metrics.
  • Practical knowledge of technologies such as databases, distributed architectures, web-based technologies, cloud technology, user interfaces/portals, and familiarity with software design and implementation tools.
  • Experience with React, Redux, and RxJS.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Perl and Python.
  • Familiarity with DevSecOps technologies.
  • Experience with SAFe Agile methodologies.
