Position Overview:
  • Cybersecurity Systems Protection Specialist (CSSP) – Competitive Salary.

Overview:As a Cybersecurity Systems Protection Specialist, you will provide expert consulting services related to the upkeep, enhancement, and technological integration for a Department of Defense (DoD) sanctioned classified network spanning multiple locations. Your responsibilities will include the formulation, revision, and establishment of new policies, procedures, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), while ensuring compliance with the Assessment and Authorization (A&A) framework utilizing the Risk Management Framework (RMF) within eMASS. You will also innovate new accreditation strategies to facilitate the swift deployment of unaccredited applications by overseeing the development lifecycle, risk evaluation, and implementation of these custom-built applications. Consulting Activities for Certification and Accreditation:
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the infrastructure, including security device configurations and Zone guidelines as specified in DISA's Enclave Test and Development STIG.
  • Create new documentation and processes to support the development and rollout of new architectures on the enterprise platform, ensuring adherence to DoD directives.
  • Prepare accreditation documentation for review by the Authorizing Official.
  • Draft Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) with partner agencies.
  • Collaborate with vendors providing custom-developed applications to ensure compliance with DoD policies and procedures.
  • Update Risk Management Framework accreditation documents as necessary and maintain the Continuous Monitoring Process.
  • Manage the A&A Package within eMASS.
  • Oversee the Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) within eMASS.
  • Conduct Continuous Monitoring and self-assessments within eMASS.
  • Assist in the introduction of new systems or applications into the infrastructure:
    • Facilitate engineering discussions with application developers to identify optimal architecture for new application deployment that aligns with DoD production and Zone guidelines.
    • Support the development of Concept of Operations (CONOPs) for the operation of new systems on the network.
    • Authorize change requests necessary for deploying new system components.
    • Coordinate with relevant team members to identify applicable STIGs for new systems and provide the STIG lists to system developers.
    • Assist in documenting the Risk Assessment Report for new applications based on scan results from the Information Assurance (IA) team.
    • Engage with the Authorizing Official's representatives to discuss system specifics, particularly potential risks associated with new applications and their mitigations.
Communication and Initiative:
  • Participate in weekly operational meetings to discuss your responsibilities related to Assessment and Authorization.
  • Proactively engage with team members daily to coordinate efforts and ensure the completion of high-priority tasks.
  • Take the initiative to observe IA processes and suggest improvements.
  • Recommend technological enhancements to the overall architecture.

Qualifications:
  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in an Information Technology discipline.
  • Over 10 years of relevant experience.
  • IAM-II Level Certification (e.g., CAP, CASP+ CE, CISM, CISSP (or Associate), GSLC, CCISO, HCISPP).
