About the Role

The Survey Project Manager is a key position at SAM, responsible for overseeing and reporting on budgets and resource utilization. This role serves as the primary point of contact between SAM and clients, ensuring that services meet company quality standards and client specifications.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Management: Manage land survey projects from start to finish, ensuring that services meet company quality standards and client specifications.
  • Operational Efficiency: Participate in planning and implement procedures and systems to maximize operating efficiency.
  • Proposal Development: Develop and manage proposals, budgets, schedules, billings, and contracts.
  • Quality Control: Sign and seal plats, field notes, and control drawings if required.
  • Work Planning: Establish work plans and staffing requirements for multiple land survey projects.
  • Business Development: Participate in business development opportunities and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Presentation and Communication: Develop and conduct presentations to clients and other critical stakeholders.
  • Interfacing with Stakeholders: Effectively interface with sub-consultants and other business relationships.
  • Financial Management: Manage and report financial status, including AR/WIP and billing cycles.
  • Representation: Represent company interests while in meetings and trade shows as needed.
  • Additional Responsibilities: Perform other tasks as assigned to help accomplish the Company's strategic goals.
Requirements
  • Industry Experience: 5+ years of industry-related work experience in a professional or management capacity.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Project Management Experience: Demonstrated experience in project/phase management for large-scale projects.
  • Technical Skills: Strong proficiency with or understanding of tools such as AutoCAD, Micro Station, Geopack, MS Office Suite.
  • Communication and Leadership: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to clearly define assignments/deliverables to team members.
  • Team Management: Ability to oversee, mentor, and motivate a project team.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to troubleshoot issues and problem-solve on the fly.
  • Time Management: Ability to meet or exceed aggressive deadlines while maintaining teamwork and collaboration with others.
  • Professional License: Professional License preferred.
