The Advanced Practice Nurse will be responsible for conducting comprehensive medical assessments, including detailed medical histories and physical examinations, as well as evaluating necessary medical documentation related to applicants for military service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough medical histories and physical examinations of applicants.
  • Evaluate required medical tests and documentation related to consultations.
  • Gather comprehensive health histories from applicants and document findings accurately.
  • Coordinate medical consultations across various specialties, including orthopedics, psychiatry, and internal medicine.
  • Ensure the completion of work meets specified quality and quantity standards.
  • Review medical records and consultation results diligently.
  • Adhere to Department of Defense and applicable regulations and policies.
  • Apply medical standards to assess the eligibility of applicants for military service.
  • Maintain a high level of respect for applicant dignity throughout the process.
  • Comply with privacy regulations and standards.
  • Participate in local medical peer reviews as required.
  • Implement a service philosophy that prioritizes applicant experience.
  • Follow all organizational policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Current unrestricted Nurse Practitioner license in a U.S. jurisdiction.
  • At least one year of direct patient care experience within the last three years.
  • Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from a recognized provider.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficient in using electronic medical records and communication tools.
  • Strong command of English for effective communication.
  • Excellent time management and decision-making skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and social awareness.
  • Ability to complete required training for medical documentation.
  • Experience in collecting and documenting health histories and mental health screenings.
  • Knowledge of diagnostic procedures across various medical fields.

Physical Requirements: The physical demands of this position require the ability to sit, talk, and hear regularly. The role may involve repetitive motions with the arms and hands, occasional walking, standing, and lifting up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close vision.
