BRIEF POSITION SUMMARY

The Sales Account Representative engages with established and prospective customers via telephone, recommending MSC products, services, and solutions through a consultative selling approach.

The role requires meeting all predetermined activity and sales goals.

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Engages with customers to recommend MSC products, services, and solutions through a consultative selling approach.
  • Drives sales to meet departmental and corporate sales objectives by developing existing accounts and penetrating newly assigned customers.
  • Identifies opportunities and makes tailored product recommendations based on customer-specific operational and technical needs.
  • Builds strong customer relationships and responds to customer needs in alignment with MSC standards, culture, and business practices.
  • Demonstrates teamwork to ensure the achievement of team, individual, and corporate sales goals.
  • Maintains sales records and generates relevant market/sales reports for MSC management as needed.
  • Monitors expenditures to ensure compliance with approved budgetary constraints and takes corrective action as necessary.
  • Develops a personal business plan under close management supervision to meet personal annual goals.
  • Exhibits fundamental sales techniques and experience through a proven track record of achieving sales goals.
  • Embraces and promotes the MSC Culture within the department and throughout the company to ensure unity of purpose and fulfillment of MSC's mission.
  • Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required.
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

A High School Diploma or equivalent is required. A minimum of 2 years of sales experience is required, with a preference for candidates with metalworking/MRO product and/or process experience.

SKILLS

Basic computer literacy is required. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential, along with strong customer service skills.

Compensation starting at $28 - $42 / hour, dependent on candidate location and experience.
The salary range represented is based on similar roles in comparable industries and the cost of labor in respective cities. Actual compensation is based on the candidate's relevant experience, education requirements, and peer pay equity. The Company reserves the right to modify the range as market conditions change.
