We provide end-to-end support, including both air and ground ISR processing, comprehensive training, and tailored solutions for government entities.

The Defense Group at Leidos is currently seeking a Flight Training Specialist for advanced aircraft operations. This role is pivotal in ensuring the training and skill development of the next generation of U.S. Army Fixed-Wing Aviators, adhering to our stringent standards of aviator proficiency, safety, and customer service. The Flight Training Specialist will undertake a variety of responsibilities, including but not limited to:

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver comprehensive Ground and Flight Training to U.S. Army personnel.
  • Conduct and document flight assessments in accordance with established training protocols.
  • Oversee and track aircrew endurance status to ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Collaborate with senior instructors to develop and implement training programs that meet U.S. Army standards.
  • Serve as a primary contact for site interactions with government representatives.
  • Act as a Contractor's Requesting Official (CRO).
  • Operate aircraft in compliance with applicable regulations and organizational policies.
  • Manage all aircraft movement requests, including necessary coordination and compliance.
  • Engage with U.S. Government Flight Operations personnel as required.
  • Fulfill flight operations and related duties as necessary.

Essential Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship and a minimum age of 21.
  • Possession of a valid passport and state driver's license.
  • Current FAA Class II Medical Certificate.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • 1,500 hours of Pilot-in-Command (PIC) flight time.
  • 500 hours of PIC time in a Global 6000/6500 or comparable aircraft.
  • Ability to complete a BD-700 Global Vision Type Certification without restrictions.
  • Commercial Airplane Multiengine, Instructor Pilot (CFI/MEI), and Instrument Airplane Airman Certificates are required.
  • FCC Radio Telephone Operator License.
  • Capability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance at the secret level.
  • CFI / CFII / MEI certification is mandatory.
  • Experience in U.S. Army aviation is essential.

Preferred Qualifications

  • FAA type rating for BD/6500 series aircraft.
  • Experience operating internationally in high-level airspace.
  • Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certification.
  • 2,000 hours of PIC flight time.
  • 1,500 hours of Multiengine flight time.
  • 300 hours of actual Instrument flight time.
  • Rating held for the last three consecutive years.
  • Former U.S. Military Instructor Pilot and Instrument Flight Examiner experience.
  • Current active DoD secret level security clearance.

The pay range for this position is between $122,000 and $220,900. This range serves as a general guideline and does not guarantee specific compensation. Factors influencing the final offer include job responsibilities, education, experience, skills, and internal equity.
