Job Summary

Georgia Tech is seeking a highly skilled Accounting Manager II to oversee the financial activities within a large and/or organizationally complex unit. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising the accounting staff, coordinating budget formulation and administration, and preparing financial forecasts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and coordinate the formulation and administration of unit budgets
  • Prepare financial forecasts and reports
  • Maintain accounting and financial records, including the chart of accounts
  • Oversee sponsored project accounting and financial records maintenance
  • Administer and interpret Institute and unit accounting policies and applicable regulatory guidelines
  • Review and approve incoming and outgoing invoices
  • Organize and direct unit accounting staff activities
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business Administration, or related field
  • Five years of job-related experience
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

The ideal candidate will possess strong accounting principles and practices, especially as they relate to academic administration, fund management, and project accounting. Additional requirements include budget administration, knowledge and application of government accounting rules and regulations, supervisory skills, and effective communication.
