Job Overview
Key Responsibilities:

PRIMARY ROLE:

Design and specify advanced mechanical, electrical, and computer-controlled systems. Enhance manufacturing support and maintenance initiatives through effective training and technical assistance. Develop process specifications, machine parameters, and strategies for reducing scrap and improving operational uptime. Lead capital projects from strategic planning through to purchase, installation, testing, and transition to operations. Benchmark industry-leading facilities and implement top-tier processes, equipment, and workflows.

CORE FUNCTIONS:
Design control systems for manufacturing machinery, encompassing electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic components.

Select capital equipment for production processes.

Enhance existing machinery to boost uptime, improve quality, and increase productivity.

Provide engineering support for production equipment and processes, including maintenance advisory.

Establish cost-saving initiatives to meet overall plant objectives.

Advise on enhancements to preventative maintenance programs.

Collaborate with suppliers and internal engineers on continuous improvement initiatives.

Authorize and approve modifications to machine tool programs.

Train team members on new technologies and manufacturing methodologies.

Adhere to and maintain Quality Management System and Environmental Management System standards.

Participate in teams and lead team initiatives.

Monitor and document cost savings.

PFMEAs:
Understand the application of PFMEAs within the organization; develop, maintain, and review PFMEAs as necessary.

Additional responsibilities may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution is required.

Position necessitates technical expertise in machine functionality, processes, control systems, CNC, PLC, servo drives, stepper motor drives, and electrical/electronic systems.

Technical knowledge in mechanical design is essential.

Proficient in capital equipment justification, project scheduling, and managerial planning. Strong interpersonal skills are crucial.

Mentor and develop maintenance staff.

Assist other facilities with technical challenges.

Candidate must be capable of independently managing assigned project tasks.

Preferred experience in data-driven analysis and problem-solving techniques.
